From the Trooper, South through Aldford towards Holt (avoid village using right fork) cross the A534 & straight on for 6 mile to the B 5069 to Malpas.
Use B 5395 to join A41 until just beyond Whitchurch then the B 5476 through Tilstock and Wem.
A mile or so before Harmer Hill turn left to Clive.
The pub, surprisingly is next to the railway station!.
